A year of working for DMWR Architects… and what a successful year it’s been!
January 2016 marks an important milestone in both my professional and personal life.
Twelve months ago this month, I began a whole new exciting chapter in my life when I began working for DMWR Architects. The London-based practice was looking to return to its northern roots, and following a number of meetings with the MD, I was appointed as director to establish the Manchester office.
Our office opened with a launch event in May last year, and was extremely well-attended. I recognised on the night I had the support and goodwill of the local built environment community, and I knew DMWR’s Manchester office would be a resounding success.
I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge and responsibility this opportunity is giving me, including meeting new clients in different sectors, and delivering excellent work. I have much to be grateful for, including the support of the Manchester team, as well as the wider DMWR business. I have also made many new friends, and these people provide advice and guidance, which is invaluable. I’d like to thank all of these people. They are too numerous to mention by name, but you all know who you are!
On a personal note, this weekend I will reach a birthday milestone, but I’m not telling you which one! I shall be celebrating with my family and close friends in a beautiful little farmhouse in the Peak District. We have plenty of long walks and hearty food planned; I can’t wait.
